On July 29, 1994 the Hungarian American Coalition sent a congratulatory letter to the newly elected government in Hungary in which the organization welcomed the democratic election process and expressed its best wishes to the government as it assumes office. In its letter the Coalition reiterated its commitment to continuing its activities to strengthen Hungary’s democratic and economic development; promote cooperation between the Hungarian and American peoples; and protect the human and collective rights of the Hungarian minorities.
