Hungarian American Coalition Receives $505,133 Donation to Support Kallós Zoltán Foundation

Washington, DC – The Hungarian American Coalition (HAC) has received a generous donation of $505,133 to support the activities and long-term development of the Kallós Zoltán Foundation (KZF), a longtime educational institution dedicated to preserving and strengthening cultural identity in Transylvania.

The donation was made by Mrs. Alice Fialowski, a distinguished Hungarian mathematician specializing in Lie theory and deformation theory. Dr. Fialowski earned her PhD from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest, where she has served for many years as a professor and researcher. Her academic work has been published in leading mathematical journals, and her research is supported by organizations including the Swiss National Science Foundation, the U.S. National Science Foundation, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

The Kallós Zoltán Foundation, based in Răscruci (Válaszút), Transylvania, Romania, has long supported Hungarian communities in the Mezőség (Transylvanian Plain) region through native-language education and cultural programs.

Central to this mission are the boarding schools in Válaszút and Nagysármás, which serve as community centers for Hungarian youth. Each year, the schools provide native-language education and cultural programs for dozens of children from remote villages where Hungarian teaching is not available.

This donation will help ensure the continuous, high-quality operation of these boarding schools.
