Some moments in the life of 2019 LTP interns
LTP is actively searching for qualified applicants for seven internship positions across three four-month sessions in 2020 – Spring, Summer and Fall. Applications are still open for the Summer and Fall sessions. To learn more about how to apply to this flagship program, please click here.
LTP is the flagship leadership development program of the Coalition, established in 2005. Following the success of the White House (1996 – 2004) and Congressional Internship Programs (2005 – 2018), LTP has the goal of bringing English-speaking Hungarians from Hungary and the neighboring countries and Hungarian Americans, to gain first-hand work and life experience at Washington, DC-based institutions.
LTP participants learn about the workings of both the U.S. government and the non-profit world through assignments to think tanks and non-governmental organizations. In addition, participants complete a Coalition research project to become familiar with the vibrant Hungarian-American community. Their experiences are customized to their areas of interest and help them establish contacts in the U.S. in their chosen field, and motivate them to enter public service in their country of origin.
Host institutions have included: Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS); International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES); Heritage Foundation; William Penn Association and the Hungarian Human Rights Foundation; German Marshall Fund of the United Sates; Global Entrepreneurship Network; Meridian House International; Design Museum Boston; The European Institute; International Market Analysis; Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development; Pinnacle Care Health Advisory; Center for Open Data Enterprise; Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA); Experience Corps; International Cybersecurity Dialogue; Blue Medium, Inc.; Marymount University; Center for Energy, Natural Resources and Geopolitics (CENRG); International Tax and Investment Center’s (ITIC) Energy Growth and Security (EGS) Program, the Atlantic Council etc.
