Washington, D.C. – The Hungarian American Coalition (Coalition) is proud to support the North American tour of the “Martians” (Marslakók) exhibition, through a $40,000 grant made possible by the generous grant of the Kilroy Foundation. The exhibition celebrates the groundbreaking achievements of Hungarian-born scientists and innovators whose discoveries have profoundly shaped the modern world.
The exhibition was officially opened at the Kossuth House in Washington, D.C., on April 26, 2026. It was also featured at the Hungarian American Coalition’s USA250 Gala Dinner on April 27. Following its successful debut in Washington, the exhibition will continue its tour across the United States throughout 2026, bringing the stories of Hungarian scientific achievement to communities nationwide.
Presented by the Magyar Brand Cultural Association, the exhibition highlights the accomplishments of Hungarian-born researchers, engineers, inventors, and innovators whose work has shaped fields ranging from mathematics and physics to medicine and technology. The name “Martians” reflects the legendary reputation of Hungarian scientists whose exceptional intellectual achievements inspired the humorous notion that they must have come “from Mars.”
To support the exhibition’s transportation and logistics, the Coalition awarded a grant to the Magyar Brand Cultural Association. The exhibition will be on display in Minnesota from August 15 through September 15, 2026, with additional appearances planned in Boston, Chicago, and Daytona Beach, in cooperation with local organizers. Each host organization will receive a $1,500 grant to help cover its logistics and communications expenses.
Through initiatives such as the “Martians” exhibition, the Coalition continues to preserve and share Hungarian cultural and scientific achievements while strengthening connections between Hungarian communities in the United States and around the world.
