On April 11, 2025, Julia Ormos began her professional internship with the Hungarian American Coalition as the first participant in the 2025 John N. Lauer Leadership Training Program (LTP), and the 102nd intern overall. Julia is a psychology student at the University of Szeged, with a particular interest in diplomacy and community leadership. Fluent in Hungarian, English, and German, she brings valuable experience in scouting, musical theatre, and equestrian sports.

From May 19 until mid-July, Julia will be working at the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation under the mentorship of Milda Mataciunaite-Boyce, where she will assist the organization in liaising with VOC partner organizations and supporting coalition-building efforts. With a strong commitment to giving back to the community, she takes on an active leadership and teaching role within the scouting team, reflecting her dedication to contributing to the community that supports her during her time in Washington, D.C. Her dedication to fostering cross-cultural understanding and public service makes her an inspiring representative of this year’s cohort.
