A report by Michelle Boorstein and Peyton M. Craighill in the February 9 edition of The Washington Post: "Sharp divides in a global poll of Catholics"

 

 In the February 8-9 issue of The Wall Street Journal, a book review by Sam Kean: "In the Shadow of Genius". Einstein reshaped how we understand space and time, energy and matter. But he scoffed at notions, like the big bang and black holes, that followed from his insights. The book is  'The Perfect Theory' by Pedro G. Ferreira, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, $28, 288 pages.

 

In the Febraury 2 edition of The Washington Post, a book review by Jonathan Yardley: "Native Africans' role in slave trade". The book is ‘Where the Negroes are Masters: An African Port in the Era of the Slave Trade’ by Randy J. Sparks, Harvard University, $29.95 309 pp.
