The Association of Minnesota Hungarians is a charitable nonprofit organization, licensed in Minnesota since 1892. Our mission is to preserve and nurture the Hungarian cultural heritage of our members, represent it within American society, collaborate with other Hungarian-American organizations, and organize Hungarian cultural and social programs. We warmly welcome Hungarian visitors and newcomers to our state, assisting them with local information and services. Additionally, we support Hungarian groups and individuals, facilitate exchange programs with Hungary, and provide financial aid to Hungarians in the U.S. and the Carpathian Basin.
Each year, we commemorate Hungary’s national holidays on March 15th, August 20th, and October 23rd, and celebrate Easter and Christmas with our members and families. Since 2014, our Hungarian Language School, MISI, has been a cornerstone of our organization, fostering language and cultural education for the next generation. We also promote and host a variety of Hungarian programs, including our widely attended annual Harvest Festival, international film festivals, exhibits, lectures, and presentations by distinguished guests.
