Hungarian American Coalition Approves New Members

WASHINGTON, DC – On May 17, 2002 the Executive Committee of the Hungarian American Coalition’s Board of Directors approved the application for HAC membership of two organizational and 10 individual members.

The new ORGANIZATIONAL members are the Hungarian American Cultural Association, Inc. of Houston, TX, and the Szechenyi Istvan Hungarian School and Kindergarten, of New Brunswick, NJ. The cultural association serves the Hungarian community of the Houston area and its President is Dr. Eva Stubbits. The Szechenyi Istvan School offers Hungarian-language instruction to children of New Brunswick and the neighboring communities and its Director is Mr. Juan Gorondi.

The new individual members are: Esther Z. Anderson of Germantown, TN; George I. Balas of Memphis, TN; John Farago of Richmond, VA; Tricia Ujvagi, of Parma, OH; Tibor M. Gallo of St. Paul, MN;Tamas Ugray, of Ontario, Canada; Margaret Forter Kotnik of Cleveland Heights, OH; Jill H. Cooper of Louisville, KY; Laszlo A. Lukacs of Dearborn, MI; and Elemer Bogyay, of Port Hope, Ontario, Canada.

The Hungarian American Coalition is a nationwide non-profit organization that promotes public understanding and awareness of Hungarian American issues.
