There are no formal requirements to become a member of the Hungarian American Coalition. By becoming a member you agree to support the goals of the Coalition as stated in our Articles of Incorporation.
The Coalition’s goals are:

To identify and promote the aspirations, concerns, and interests of the Hungarian-American community.

To foster interest and appreciation in the United States for the history and culture of Hungary, including its literature, arts, and scientific achievements.

To promote cooperation and communication among members.

To encourage cultural and educational interaction between the peoples of the United States and Hungary.

To protect and preserve the human and minority rights and cultural heritage of Hungarians throughout the world.

To support democratic institutions and economic development in Hungary.
For information on the Coalition’s activities in support of these goals, please read the annual “Projects and Accomplishments” summary of activities as well as the press releases issued over the years. If you need clarification or additional information on any of the projects or activities, please contact a member of the Membership Committee (see the email addresses). They will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
The Coalition is funded by membership contributions, donations, grants and proceeds from fund-raising events and projects. The resources provided by our members in the form of membership dues provides for the bulk of the Coalition’s operational expenses, while donations and grant proceeds allow us to carry out projects.
The Coalition’s annual membership is $65 for an individual membership and $250 for an organizational membership. Other membership categories are also available, including a “Guest” category which entitles you to the same benefits as the other categories except that you do not have to pay. After a certain period we will ask you join as a regular member.

Your membership application will be reviewed by the Board at its next meeting or by the Executive Committee, which is entrusted with carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the Board between meetings.
Membership in the Coalition involves certain responsibilities. The most important is to actively participate in the work of the Coalition and help the Coalition achieve its goals.
