Continued Ameritech Sponsorship of the White House Internship Program

The White House Internship Program is an annual public service scholarship program administered by the Hungarian American Coalition since 1994. Ameritech, the Chicago-based telecommunications corporation, with a strong presence in Hungary and a commitment to improving international communications, has generously provided grants to the Coalition in support of the goals of the Internship Program.

Since its inception, the White House internship program has enabled the Coalition to screen, nominate and finance the expenses of 9 young talented college seniors or senior candidates. The White House Internship by Ameritech is an excellent vehicle for motivated young men and women to further their interest in public service, community relations and international relations from the vantage point of the executive branch of government by working full time, for a semester, at various offices of the White House. As part of this unpaid internship program, participants are also asked to complete a project for the Hungarian American Coalition.

The Hungarian American Coalition is grateful for the generous sponsorship provided by Ameritech for this important continuing program.
