Ameritech Renews its Support of the White House Internship by Ameritech

Washington, D.C. – The White House Internship by Ameritech is a public service scholarship program administered since 1996 by the Washington-based Hungarian American Coalition. Its purpose is to provide a special opportunity for young men and women to further their interest in public service, community relations and international relations through working full time for a semester or summer session at various White House offices. In addition, participants are asked to stay engaged with the Hungarian American community by completing a project for the Coalition.

Ameritech, the Chicago-based telecommunications company with a strong presence in Hungary and a commitment to improving international communications, has provided $10,000 for the past four years to support the White House Internship by Ameritech. These funds have enabled the Coalition to finance the expenses of fifteen college students during their internship.

The Hungarian American Coalition is grateful for Ameritech’s continued generous sponsorship of a program which prepares its participants for leadership roles in various communities – including Hungarian American communities – all over the United States.

The Coalition is a nationwide non-profit organization that promotes public understanding and awareness of Hungarian American issues.
